What to Consider Before Buying a Waterproof Backpack
Waterproof backpacks are designed to protect your belongings from the elements. They’re ideal for anyone who enjoys activities like kayaking, hiking, camping, or even just daily commutes in unpredictable weather. They’re not just for adventurers though, anyone who needs to keep their belongings dry can benefit from a good waterproof backpack. But before you buy one, there are a few things you should consider.
* Size: Backpacks come in different sizes, so choose one that fits your needs. If you’re only carrying a few small items, a smaller backpack will be more than enough. However, if you’re carrying a lot of gear, a larger backpack is necessary.
* Material: Waterproof backpacks are typically made from PVC, nylon, or TPU. PVC is durable and affordable, while nylon is lightweight and breathable. TPU is the most waterproof material, but it can be more expensive.
* Features: Some waterproof backpacks come with extra features like padded shoulder straps, adjustable waist belts, and external pockets. These features can make the backpack more comfortable and functional.
* Price: Waterproof backpacks range in price from a few dollars to a few hundred dollars. Consider your budget and the features you need before making a purchase.

The IDRYBAG Waterproof Backpack is a good choice for anyone looking for a durable and reliable waterproof backpack. It’s also a good value for the price. However, it’s not the most comfortable backpack to wear, especially for long periods of time. It’s also not the most stylish backpack on the market, but it’s not trying to be. It’s functional first and foremost.

Key Features & Benefits of the IDRYBAG Waterproof Backpack
The Roll-Top Closure: Your First Line of Defense
The IDRYBAG Waterproof Backpack features a roll-top closure, which is one of the most effective ways to ensure that your belongings stay dry. The roll-top closure creates a tight seal that prevents water from entering the backpack. I’ve had this backpack in some pretty heavy rain and even submerged it briefly in water, and my belongings have always stayed completely dry. The roll-top closure is also very easy to use. Simply roll down the top of the backpack, clip the buckle, and you’re good to go.
Adjustable Shoulder Straps: Comfort is Key
The adjustable shoulder straps are essential for making the IDRYBAG Waterproof Backpack comfortable to wear. They allow you to adjust the fit to your specific body shape and size. When I’m carrying a lot of weight, the adjustable straps make all the difference. The straps are also well-padded, which helps to distribute the weight evenly across your shoulders.
Waterproof Phone Pouch: Stay Connected
The waterproof phone pouch is a great feature that allows you to keep your phone safe and dry while you’re on the go. The pouch is located on the front of the backpack, so it’s easy to access your phone without having to remove it from the backpack. This is a great feature for anyone who wants to take pictures or videos while they’re on an adventure, or just want to keep their phone close at hand.
Floating Design: Never Lose Your Gear
The IDRYBAG Waterproof Backpack is designed to float, so if you happen to drop it in the water, it will stay afloat. This feature is essential for anyone who is kayaking, canoeing, or swimming. I’ve dropped the backpack a couple of times while kayaking, and it’s always floated to the surface. It’s a reassuring feature that keeps your mind at ease when you’re on the water.
User Feedback: What Others Are Saying
I’ve been using the IDRYBAG Waterproof Backpack for a few months now, and I’ve been very happy with it. I’ve taken it on several adventures, including kayaking, hiking, and camping, and it’s always kept my belongings dry. I’ve also seen a lot of positive reviews from other users online.
Here’s what one user said: “Great bag for water activities and can double as a short term ice chest when you are in a pinch. The bag is made of quality materials and works great at keeping your belongings dry, even if you have to float the bag. We purchased the bag for a trip to Costa Rica. Used it as a cary-on to pack a weeks worth of clothes and keep our belongings dry when headed to the beach and back into the rain forest. Was very comfortable on the shoulders and when you hike the straps up tight it stays snug on the back. In addition, if you want to take a case of drinks down to the beach you can load it up, throw in ice, and be good to go for a few hours (just dont think of it as a yeti as it was never intended to be). If / When it does get dirty with sand or dirt, just hoes it off outside and leave open to dry, good as new.”
However, some users have reported issues with the seams: “I loved my old idrybag (first picture). 4 years after buying it, I ordered another incase they went put of business and my marine biologist partner fell in love with it so they stole it for boat trips. But after 7 years of nearly everyday use and traveling on motorcycles for close to 50 thousands miles, camping and scuba diving trips, the top of my original bag started to leak due to excessive wear. Since my spare was taken, I ordered another 40L and these seams look horrible (rest of the pictures). And the material feels almost brittle. It’s so thin that light shines through it. I would return it if it wasn’t a huge pain from my location. I doubt I’ll get more than 6 months out of this thing if it even keeps water out now. The picture doesn’t even match the product anymore. The bottom is completely different and that is where the worrisome seams are. I gave it 2 stars but that is optimistic. Going to test it a lot before I put my electronics in this.”
