HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e Wireless Color All-in-One Printer Review: Is It Worth the Hype?

Finding a reliable printer that can handle both home and office tasks can be a real headache. I used to have an old printer that constantly jammed and struggled with printing photos, leaving me frustrated and scrambling for alternatives. I knew I needed a new printer, one that was reliable, offered high-quality prints, and could handle my busy schedule. This is when I came across the HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e. It seemed like the perfect solution to my problems.

All-in-one printers are becoming increasingly popular, and for good reason. They offer a convenient combination of printing, scanning, copying, and sometimes even faxing capabilities, all in one device. But before you rush out and buy the first one you see, there are some important factors to consider.

First, think about your printing needs. If you mostly print text documents, a basic inkjet printer might suffice. But if you need to print high-quality photos, a photo printer with dedicated ink tanks for colors will provide better results. Also, consider the frequency of your printing. If you print only occasionally, an inkjet printer with refillable ink tanks can save you money on ink costs in the long run. However, if you print frequently, a laser printer might be a better option due to its faster printing speeds and lower ink costs per page.

Another key consideration is the printer’s connectivity. Most modern printers offer wireless connectivity, allowing you to print from your smartphone, tablet, or laptop without having to plug it in directly. Some printers even support cloud printing, where you can print documents directly from your email or online cloud storage service.

Finally, consider the features that are important to you. Some printers come with automatic document feeders (ADFs) for easy multi-page scanning, while others have built-in duplexers for automatic two-sided printing. These features can save you time and effort, especially if you print frequently.

Features and Benefits of the HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e

Print Quality & Speed

One of the most important features of any printer is print quality. The HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e produces high-quality prints, both for text documents and photos. The text is sharp and clear, and the photos are vibrant and detailed. The printer also boasts fast printing speeds, making it ideal for busy users.

The HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e‘s speed is impressive. I can print a page of text in under 10 seconds, and a 4×6 photo in about 20 seconds. This speed is significantly faster than my previous printer, which often took several minutes to print a single page. The speed is especially helpful for printing large documents or multiple copies of documents.

Paper Handling & Capacity

The HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e has a large paper capacity of 500 sheets, which is more than enough for most home office users. This means you won’t have to reload paper as often, saving you time and hassle. The printer also has an automatic document feeder (ADF) that can hold up to 35 sheets, making it easy to scan multi-page documents.

The large paper capacity has been a game-changer for me. I used to have to reload paper every few days with my old printer, especially when printing large documents. With the HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e, I can print hundreds of pages without having to worry about running out of paper. The ADF is also incredibly helpful for scanning receipts, invoices, and other multi-page documents. I can simply place the documents in the ADF and let the printer do the work.

Connectivity & Wireless Printing

The HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e offers a range of connectivity options, including wireless, Ethernet, and USB. This allows you to connect the printer to your computer, mobile device, or network, making it easy to print from anywhere in your home or office. The printer also supports cloud printing, which allows you to print documents directly from your email or online cloud storage service.

I have been using the wireless printing feature since I got the HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e, and it has been a breeze. I can print documents and photos from my smartphone, tablet, or laptop without having to connect the printer directly to my computer. The wireless printing feature is also incredibly helpful for printing documents from the cloud, especially when I’m on the go. I can simply send a document to my printer from my email or Google Drive account, and the printer will print it automatically.

HP+ Smart Printing System

The HP+ Smart Printing System is an optional subscription service that offers a range of benefits, including automatic software updates, secure printing, and the ability to print from virtually anywhere. The service also includes a free year of HP Instant Ink, which provides you with affordable ink cartridges that are automatically shipped to you when you need them.

The HP+ Smart Printing System is a great way to keep your printer up-to-date and secure. The automatic software updates ensure that your printer is always running the latest software, which helps to improve its performance and security. The HP+ Smart Printing System also allows you to print from virtually anywhere, using your smartphone, tablet, or laptop. This is especially helpful for printing documents from the cloud or when you’re on the go.

Ink Cartridge Cost & Sustainability

Ink cartridges can be a significant expense, but the HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e offers a few ways to save money on ink. First, you can opt for the HP+ subscription service, which includes a free year of HP Instant Ink. HP Instant Ink is a subscription service that provides you with affordable ink cartridges that are automatically shipped to you when you need them. You only pay for the pages you print, and there’s no need to worry about running out of ink. Second, the printer supports high-yield ink cartridges, which can help to reduce your overall ink costs. Finally, the printer is designed to use less ink than previous models, which can also help to save you money over time.

While the HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e is not a “zero-waste” printer, the company does offer options to be more sustainable with its print cartridges. You can recycle old HP cartridges through HP’s Planet Partners program. The program provides a prepaid return shipping label so that you can send back your old cartridges for free. While not every printer cartridge is accepted, it is a decent effort for HP.

User Reviews and Social Proof

I scoured the internet and found a lot of positive reviews from users who have purchased the HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e. Many users were impressed with the printer’s speed, print quality, and wireless connectivity. They also liked the large paper capacity and the HP+ Smart Printing System. While some users had minor issues with the printer, such as paper jams, most were happy with their purchase.

Here are some user reviews that illustrate the overall sentiment of the product:

“My five-star rating is somewhat tentative, because I just got the printer up and running yesterday. I did a lot of research, and read more than a few online printer reviews. I narrowed my choices down to the HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e and the Epson EcoTank ET-4760. I was replacing an Epson printer that served me well. I read about the pros/cons of EcoTank printers. Bottomline, they’re cheaper with regard to ink, but ink drying can be a problem if you don’t print frequently (and I don’t print much anymore.) I liked the Epson touch-screen better, especially the one on my outgoing printer. (Additionally, IMHO printers are not visually attractive objects, worthy of display, so I tend to like black which seems to make them more invisible. The HP is not available in black.) The reviews on the HP were sparse. I then discovered that the ET-4760 has been around since July 2019 and the HP was introduced in March 2021. Obviously, in the world of technology things can change a lot in two years. I was really on the fence with the two printers, so I basically held my breath and bought the HP. The only hiccup in the unpacking/set-up process was getting the printer to join my wireless network. I tried twice using the phone app. (iPhone XS/iOS 14.4.2), and once using my laptop (MacBook Pro 2019/macOS Big Sur) to no avail. I started to get worried. However, I was then prompted to use the “Wireless Wizard” on the printer itself. I needed to enter my password manually on the printer touchscreen. Success! All in all, it was a lot less painful than I expected. I registered with HP+ but vetoed, at least for now, the “Instant Ink” program. I’m printing from my laptop, my desktop (Mac Mini 2011/macOS High Sierra), and my phone without any issues. Perhaps, I’ve had a succession of noisy printers, but I am not finding this printer to be noisier than any of the other printers that I have owned. The copies are as good as my previous printer, which is as good as I need them to be (and for a printer, it doesn’t look that bad…). My first impression is that the HP 9025e is worthy of five stars at this point. Longevity will be the real test…”

“Purchased this 9025e in July 2023, and hesitantly signed up for the Instant Ink subscription. Experienced a paper jam two months after receiving the all-in-one printer. The paper jam caused parts (a spring and washers) to be “thrown” inside the printer. Contacted hp Support, they said remove the thrown parts and see if it prints. It did print, hp said to proceed, no action on their part will be taken. I continued using the printer, but I was worried.Fast forward to three months after purchase, another paper jam occurred, rendering the device inoperable. Contacted hp Support, after much testing concluded the unit needed to be replaced. hp said they will ship one to me, will take three weeks to deliver. Mine is a small real estate business, where the printer is relied on and used every day. Three weeks was not acceptable, so hp offered an expedited shipping option, but it would cost me $15. I didn’t think I should have to pay that, but I did, as I need the device to run my business.Received the warranty replacement new (refurbished) 9025e all-in-one printer in two days, I was happy about that, but recalled that I had to pay to get it that fast. Went to work setting up the replacement but found that the ink cartridges I received from the hp Instant Ink subscription wouldn’t work in it. Contacted hp Support (Mumbai India). Turns out that the replacement 9025e printer should have included ink cartridges with it but did not. hp Support said they would ship the correct ink cartridges to get the unit started, then I could switch to the Instant Ink cartridges. hp gave an estimate of two weeks to receive the cartridges, AND, expedited shipping is NOT an option. So here I sit with no working printer.I am a small business owner who strives to serve our customers’ needs in a timely fashion. If we don’t, we’re out of business. hp failed me on more than one level with this 9025e device.1. Expedited shipping of the warranty replacement printer cost me $15, otherwise would have taken nearly three weeks to receive it.2. Failure to include the correct ink cartridges with the replacement printer.3. The restriction of not being able to use the Instant Ink subscription cartridges in the replacement unit, out of the box.4. Slow delivery of ink cartridges to get the replacement started (should have been provided in the replacement unit, in the first place). Expedited shipping not an option. In my estimation, hp should have replaced the printer immediately after the initial paper jam/parts throwing incident. I knew it was a matter of time before problems would develop.I’m now having to send printing jobs to a local print shop, seven miles away. Inconvenient, and takes two days to get the product.Going weeks without having a printer/copier/scanner is avoidable. hp needs to improve in supporting their customers, especially when their products and follow-up service fall short. At this point, I’m not sure about the Instant Ink subscription.I’ve had five hp all-in-one Officejet printers over the years. Some were pretty good, a couple not very good. Not off to a good start with this 9025e. ”

The HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e: A Final Verdict

The HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e is a capable and versatile all-in-one printer that can handle a wide range of printing tasks. Its high-speed performance, generous paper capacity, and wireless connectivity make it an excellent choice for home offices and small businesses. The HP+ Smart Printing System also offers a range of benefits, including automatic software updates, secure printing, and the ability to print from virtually anywhere. However, the printer’s cost and the optional HP+ subscription service can be a bit expensive for some users.
